Joshua Tree + Palm Springs Engagement Session // Liz & Jonathan

An engagement session in Joshua Tree + Palm Springs!? Hmmm, what more could I say about these amazing places! They give you instant excitement and good vibes just by mentioning the names! Since Liz and Jonathan’s wedding will be in a lush green and romantic setting at Sacred Mountain Julian, we wanted to bring some desert vibes into their Joshua Tree + Palm Springs engagement session. And man did we love it!

The drive was beautiful! A soft layer of snow covering mountaintops along the highway 60 and 10 made it enjoyable and got me screaming in excitement! I knew we’re gonna have a great time!

We started the shoot at the giant turbines and this was one of the sessions that we didn’t really need to warm up or anything, they just dove right in! Their energies were contagious and I was just over the moon with it. I knew a session was lit when I had to change the lens super fast, put it right on the ground, follow the couple to get their movements and reactions, then forgot the lens in the middle of the desert! Luckily I found it and realized how far off we went!

Then we headed to Joshua Tree to play more with the light, dance beneath the trees, and enjoy a gorgeous sunset on a boulder. These two were down to try new perspectives and let me experience new techniques so I knew the results would come out much better than I expected!

We left the park feeling inspired and so stoked for their upcoming wedding in spring!!

Their love reminded me to be yourself and play like no one is watching, go ahead and have a great time! Because someone told me couples who play together stay together!
